Brigitte Sommer is a partner at KSTA. Her main areas of practice include general commercial and corporate matters, contracts, technology and intellectual property law.
Brigitte Sommer obtained her law degree from the University of Zurich in 1994 and was admitted to the Zurich Bar in 1998. She began her practice of law at the District Court of Horgen and in a large corporate law firm in Zurich. After gathering experience abroad in an in-house function in the legal department of the Motion Pictures Association of America in Los Angeles, she joined the Technology, IT, IP, Telecom and Media Team at the Swiss law firm Bär & Karrer AG, where she spent seven years and focused above all on the provision of comprehensive legal advice to companies active in these industries.
She is a member of various professional associations as well as of the Advisory Committee of the Foundation Technopark Zürich and of the Patronage Committee of the Foundation Technopark Argovia, in which functions she assesses and supports start-up companies. In addition, Brigitte Sommer is lecturer for CTI Entrepreneurship and Technopark Academy workshops for entrepreneurs.
Brigitte Sommer is the author of various publications and has held presentations in contract, technology transfer, outsourcing, telecommunication, advertisement, intellectual property, copyright, privacy, employment, data protection and corporate law.
Brigitte Sommer is registered with the attorney's register of the Canton of Zurich and admitted to all Swiss courts and authorities.
